This season, the inspiration is endless. Whether you’re looking for office-friendly wardrobe staples like the ones we saw at Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent (is it time to try a necktie?) or you’re getting your closet’s groove back with retro statement pieces like at Versace and Valentino, there is so much to tap into.
Below, I’ve shopped out my favorite looks across nine trends, including the ones I’m already wearing and the pieces at the top of my wish list.
Sophisticated Prep
launchmetrics/spotlightPrada, Miu Miu, Rabanne, Wales Bonner, Proenza Schouler
Stripes! Boat shoes! Transitional car coats! You don’t have to live on the coast to enjoy the reimagined preppy trend this spring. From the fringed nautical dress at Proenza Schouler to the mixed-and-matched stripes at Rabanne, we saw classic pieces updated with unexpected twists. One favorite: Miu Miu’s reversible car coat, which can be worn with the khaki side out for a more traditionally preppy look or turned inside out to reveal a burnt-sienna interior with a gray stripe. Try leaning into the athlete vibes during the day with a sporty top and a crisp cotton skirt, or take an opposites-attract approach for the evening with a minimal silk midi dress.

Wafty Florals
launchmetrics/spotlightChloé, Fendi, Erdem, Fendi, Loewe
Florals this season are easy-breezy. Literally—the best ones came in layer upon layer of sheer fabric in light, muted colorways for a dreamy, wind-strewn garden-party effect. From Loewe’s hoop dress to Chloé’s high-low hemmed gowns to midi dresses layered with henley tank tops at Erdem, these are the showstoppers for your spring events. Designers also went all out with floral bags (one of the biggest accessory trends of the season), adorning every possible bag silhouette with 3D florals, appliqués, and woven prints. Just throw one on, and any a pair of jeans and white T-shirt becomes an instant outfit. (This is my spring uniform!)

Americana Plaid
launchmetrics/spotlightBottega Veneta, the Row, Tod’s, Kallmeyer, S.S. Daley
We tend to think of plaid as a fall fabric, one that leans toward westernwear, but this season designers used it in more relaxed silhouettes that are perfect for spring. Think unassuming A-line skirts, draped tanks, and boatneck tops, all of which make this classic pattern feel new and sophisticated. As someone who is typically more of a minimalist, I love the idea of wearing a subtle checkered top (either a draped shell tank or tailored boatneck top) on a night out with black jeans and a leather clutch, like at Kallmeyer. For a new office look, the Row presented a plaid skirt with a butter-yellow button-down shirt, which can transition perfectly into summer.

Soft Dressing
launchmetrics/spotlightAlaïa, Chloé, Brandon Maxwell, Khaite, Toteme
Designers gave daywear separates and evening dresses a soft touch this season. Everyone from Alaïa to Chloé to Khaite applied pastel hues to flowy silhouettes, piling on the peplums and ruffles. Thin ribbed knits and strappy flats offer balance to the voluminous proportions of a draped miniskirt or balloon pants for a daytime look, while oversize midi and minidresses can update your evening look this spring. (Tip: These work best with a minimal sandal heel!)

Retro Groove
launchmetrics/spotlightMiu Miu, Pucci, Etro, Versace, Valentino
This trend isn’t quite boho, but it’s boho-adjacent—the 1970s of loud Pucci prints rather than soft hippie ruffles. Take inspiration from Versace’s mix-and-match separates on the runway, which make a strong case that a retro print looks best with … another retro print! Of course, these pieces can also be the focal point of your look on their own. A patterned skirt or pants look groovy paired with a black T-shirt, mules, and a suede jacket—or try a printed top with wide-leg jeans and strappy sandals. There’s so much to play with here!

Chic Minimalism
launchmetrics/spotlightToteme, Colleen Allen, Tove, the Row, Filippa K
If you’re looking to invest in a piece that will stand the test of time, this is the spring trend (or maybe the antitrend?) for you. From Toteme’s spring/summer office-appropriate tailored shorts—which I will be wearing on rotation—to the Row’s lightweight black button-down, we saw so many minimalist black and white wardrobe builders on the runway this season. Take a cue from the designers and dress them up with subtle but statement-making accessories; sculptural white tailored T-shirts and silky pants feel new when paired with a statement necklace or mule sandal wedge.

Crafty Characters
launchmetrics/spotlightAlaïa, Bottega Veneta, Khaite, CFCL, Acne Studios
Another takeaway from the spring/summer 2025 runways, when it comes to statement dressing, was looks that leaned into craft. Woven tops, skirts, and dresses appeared throughout collections at Khaite and Bottega Veneta, where models were styled from head to toe in the trend. Lean in with a woven knit dress under a trench coat, or break up the look by pairing a woven knit top with tailored trousers for an artful take on evening dressing. It goes without saying that all of these separates can seamlessly take you into summer if you repurpose them as vacation looks or beach cover-ups.

Strictly Business
launchmetrics/spotlightBottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Lemaire, Fear of God, Tibi
Power suiting! Skirts over pants! Ties! New office-dressing protocols were instated on the spring/summer 2025 runways. Saint Laurent made the case for oversize ’80s-style suiting, and Bottega Veneta doubled down on skirts over pants. Suiting fabrics were turned upside down and repurposed in shirting and jackets, giving us new ideas for styling. (To balance out the drama, try one of these with a softer pleated skirt or poplin A-line.) When it comes to accessories, an oversize bowler bag and a block heel are the perfect pairings to take you through the season ahead.

Summer Suede
launchmetrics/spotlightPrada, Khaite, Kallmeyer, Miu Miu, Fendi
Suede is often thought of as a winter texture, but more and more designers have been incorporating the material in their spring collections, from cropped transitional jackets at Prada and Kallmeyer to bags at Miu Miu and Khaite. I’m a city girl, so even when temperatures rise, I always have a jacket on hand to combat freezing office AC. For a transitional daytime look, I might try a light suede blazer with a suede miniskirt and flats or a light suede jacket with white jeans and a black T-shirt. When it comes to updating your spring work look, try ballet flats in suede with tailored trousers and a sleeveless blouse or a shirt dress with a suede bag—two on-trend looks that are sure to become go-tos this season.
